The Keychron Q2 Barebone version is a fully customizable mechanical keyboard with a compact 65% layout, designed for personalized premium typing comfort. With a solid full aluminum frame, the Q2 Barebone is easy to assemble and offers excellent compatibility with macOS, Windows, Linux, and hot-swappable functionality. Note: Users need to purchase switches and keycaps separately in order to use the Q2 Barebone version.

The Q2 supports QMK/VIA, allowing for endless possibilities for a fluid workflow. Simply connect the Q2 to your device with a cable, import the Q2 keymap JSON file into the VIA software, and customize your favorite keys or macro commands on macOS, Windows, or Linux operating systems. The keyboard is also hot-swappable with almost all 3pin and 5pin MX style mechanical switches without the need for soldering.

The Q2 features a PCB-mounted screw-in stabilizer for "big keys" such as space bar, shift, enter, and delete, designed for less wobbliness, as well as a double-gasket design to improve overall typing sound. Additionally, the south-facing RGB is designed to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle if non-backlight shine-through PBT keycaps (not included in the Q2 Barebone version) are installed.

The Q2 is crafted with a 6063 aluminum frame that has undergone 24 manufacturing stages, including CNC machining, polishing, anodizing, and sandblasting. The keyboard offers a reliable USB Type-C wired connection with 1000 Hz polling rate and NKRO. Each keyboard component can be reassembled easily, allowing for customizable options.
